Most people travel to Clearwater Beach, FL, by using Florida State Road 60 from the Tampa International Airport (about 20-miles from Clearwater Beach). So, the answer to Where is Clearwater beach is it is a straight shot from the airport to the beach dead ending at Pier 60 in Clearwater Beach.

The average local temperature of this subtropical tourist haven is 73 degrees, with fall and spring being the most comfortable seasons.

Clearwater MarinaThe beach area is a 2.5 mile white sand beach bordered by the Gulf of Mexico. There you will find a full marina with many boating activities: fishing charters, sailing charters, sight-seeing boats, dinner cruises, dolphin tours, parasailing, and personal watercraft.

Sand Key ParkBe sure to visit for a quiet beach and park atmosphere when Pier 60 for a change of pace from Pier 60 activities.

The Jolley Trolley

provides fun bus transportation up and down the beach. Mandalay Avenue is the main road to the north end of the beach while Gulfview Blvd. is the main south beach road. s and establishments. So, park your car and let the trolley take you to restaurants, bars, and beaches.

Clearwater Beach WalkBe sure to check out Beach Walk with several bars, restaurants and shops along the southern area of the beach. There are drinking fountains, shower nozzles for beachcombers to rinse the sand off, and bicycle racks. A paved bicycle trail lined by mangrove trees is available which parallels the Clearwater Memorial Causeway to the city.

Check out the local aquarium during your stay where thy rescue, rehab and release marine creatures. This is the aquarium home of “Winter” our most famous dolphin. You may have seen this dolphin on the NBC Today Show, CNN, BBC, or hundreds of newspapers around the world. At only three months of age, Winter was wrapped tightly in a crab trap line and was unable to escape. She was rescued from Mosquito Lagoon (near Cape Canaveral) and transported here for rehabilitation. Unfortunately, Winter lost her entire tail as well as two vertebrae a result of the serious injuries that she had sustained.
